Ideal Applications
Screwdriving looks solved until the fastener has a finish on it. Then the question is whether you can hit rate without marking the screw or the part on the way in.
ZEL step feeders are usually what decides it. They lift and singulate each screw rather than tumbling it, so the head reaches the driver with its finish intact. Feeding is where cosmetic damage happens, not driving.
On the driving side, SER and SEB fixtured spindles run automated stations, SEV-C and SEV-P suit cobots and lightweight robots, and HSP and HSE handheld drivers cover semi-automated benches where a person still holds the tool.
Fixtured systems run roughly 50 to 75 cycles per minute. Send us the fastener and the volume and we will spec the system.

What areas do you support WEBER screwdriving in?

How does WEBER feed screws to the tool?
Continuously, and that's the difference: screws are singulated and blown or shuttled to the driver so the next fastener is already waiting when the last one seats. WEBER's swivel-arm step feeders even stage the next screw while the current one is still driving. The operator or robot never picks up a screw, and rundown rates reach 50 to 75 screws a minute on fixtured systems.
What is step feeding and why does it matter?
A step feeder lifts fasteners on a blade in singulated steps instead of circulating them in a vibratory bowl. That's gentler on finishes, quieter, and it feeds the short, tumble-prone, odd-head, and headless fasteners that jam ordinary bowls, up to M16 and 160 mm long. If your screw has ever been called unfeedable, this is the technology that feeds it.
At what volume does automated screwdriving pay off?
WEBER's own thresholds: a handheld feed driver becomes economical around 20,000 fasteners a year, and a fixtured station takes over beyond roughly 50,000. Bring the screw and the annual volume and the system sizes itself.
Can WEBER feed my short or odd screws?
Usually yes, and this is exactly where they're strong. Set screws and nuts run through the same feeding, and WEBER's inserting systems press in pins, clips, and inserts. Send the fastener and we'll confirm the feed.
How do I document torque and angle on every screw?
The C30S controller stores the driving program and logs torque, angle, and depth per fastener, with transducer redundancy to VDI/VDE 2862 where the joint is safety-critical. That record is what automotive, medical, and aerospace audits ask to see.
What wears out on a screwdriving system, and do you stock it?
Bits, feed components, and the normal consumable tail. We stock them, which is why a worn bit stays a quick call instead of a line-down. It's also why our WEBER customers tend to stay WEBER customers.
