WHERE IT FITS

Ideal Applications

When an assembly needs many stations in a small footprint, the machine that matters is not at any one station. It is the thing that moves the part between them and holds the takt.

TC rotary indexing tables are the fixed-cycle workhorses and the answer when the cycle never changes. NC indexers are freely programmable for when it does. TR rotary rings leave the centre open so equipment can sit inside the circle. LS linear transfer covers in-line cells where a dial will not fit.

HP pick-and-place modules handle the transfer between stations, so one platform covers both the indexing and the part movement rather than mixing vendors at the join.

Units are sized from 120 mm to 1,000 mm and up to 80,000 N axial force, with EF3 controls on the Gen5 platform. Tell us the stations and the cycle and we will spec the motion.

Should I use a rotary dial or a linear transfer?

Rotary indexing when stations fit around a dial and the footprint is tight: the TC tables index inside ±12 arc-seconds and run for decades. Linear transfer (the LS series) when the line needs more stations than a dial can hold or in-line flow. Both run from one W.A.S. controller, so you're choosing the motion architecture and the controls stay the same either way.

Should I choose a fixed-cycle or a freely programmable indexer?

Fixed-cycle (TC) when the motion never changes: it's cheaper, faster, and nearly maintenance-free. Freely programmable (NC/TO) when station count, angles, or dwell times need to change with the product. WEISS's own line applies here: not every application needs high-end precision, but every application needs stability, dynamics, and cost-efficiency.

When does an index table beat a robot?

When the same short cycle repeats all day across multiple stations. A cam-driven table does that motion faster, cheaper, and more repeatably than an arm. We sell robots too, so when we say the table wins, it's the application talking.
